The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council led by Comrade Festus Alenkhe is on the verge of setting up an election monitoring situation room to give up-to-date situation report on the presidential and NASS polls coming up on Saturday, February 25th.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Council, Comrade Andy Egbon, he said: “The situation room which is to be manned by top journalists in Edo State will be at the union’s Secretariat, NUJ Press Centre, No 1 Sir Gabriel Igbinedion Way, GRA, Benin City.
“The Situation Room is to receive and attend to complaints relating to the 2023 General elections from journalists covering the elections in different parts of Edo State.”
Going further he stated: “The monitoring and feedback room will open at 6am and will be closed after the announcement of the Presidential and National Nssembly election results.
“In case of emergency, journalists are expected to call: Festus Alenkhe (Chairman) – 08023374944; Andy Egbon (Secretary) – 08058767093 and Elvis Omoregie (Secretary) – 08054217941.”
