Chief Patrick Eholor, human rights activist and President of the One Love Foundation, has called for the release of a journalist, Daniel Ojukwu, with immediate effect by the Nigeria Police.
He called on the Police image maker, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, “to stop playing the race card. We are all Nigerians. I see a tribal race card in here because the image maker is a Yoruba and Ojukwu of course is Igbo.
“The man who stole N8 billion with his daughter, who fooled the entire Nigerians in disguise of airline, was granted bail today and yet a person who is exposing corrupt practices has been denied justice for nine days. The world is watching us.
“Justice is blind and at the same time it is no respecter of anyone. The member representing Ojukwu in the House of Representatives should take this case up to effect his release because if a Fulani man that fooled the country can be granted bail then I see no reason why Daniel Ojukwu should be held back for nine days. This is unconstitutional and should be condemned!”
Daniel Ojukwu, a reporter with FIJ, has been in detention for some days now. It’s suspected that his incarceration is in connection to a recent publication by his medium which is considered distasteful by the government.
