Scoop: Fairy tale like story of IDPs camp inhabitant who is awarded American educational scholarship

Information reaching Popular News from independent sources is that Amos Ishaku, the young man, who graduated from the Edo State University, Uzaire with a first class honours score in the 2022/23 academic session, has now secured a fully funded scholarship to pursue his dream to the PhD level at one of the top-of-the-shelf universities in the USA, University of Illinois, Chicago. 

Amos, who habitates in the Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs) Camp situated in Uhogua in the Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, has his sight on acquiring a PhD in Chemical Engineering.

Popular News was reliably informed that the offer to Amos Ishaku is worth about N20 million. Offers for the scholarship is said to have come from a horde of choice institutions of learning across the world from which he picked the University of Illinois, Chicago deal as the ideal one for his aspirations. 

While announcing the good tidings, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, the founder of The Home for the Needy, the  foundation that manages the IDPs Camp, Uhogua, stated: “This is to let the world and our friends know that the support they are giving to the orphans, widows, displaced people and the vulnerable in our centre Home for the Needy are yielding great results. 

“Apart from those who graduated last year and the ones about to graduate this year, over 200 currently studying in different universities and over 150  processing their admissions into universities.

“One of them Ishaku Amos who recently graduated with first class has just been offered a fully funded scholarship to do his PhD at the University of Illinois Chicago, USA.”

In conclusion, Pastor Folorunsho submitted that Amos’ fairy tale like story “is a clear indication that creating an enabling environment for those in need yields beautiful results.”
