Comrade Kelly Okungbowa(aka Ebo Stone, Capacity Leader 001), the National Coordinator of the Youth 4 Youth Initiative, has charged the Inspector General of Police(IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun, to expedite action and bring to book the brains behind the black Thursday attack on the All Progressives Congress(APC) gubernatorial standard bearer in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo which resulted in the killing of his security aide Inspector Onu Akor at the Benin Airport.

He stated: “The truth of the matter is that when the incident happened we laid a complain and the police swung into action. By the grace of God we were able to arrest at least two persons whom I know will be in police custody by now and the police are doing proper investigation. I want to let the public to know that delay is not denial in a case like this.

“A mobile policeman was murdered in cold blood. It is a slap on the face of the police if they cannot do what’s right. I trust the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun (IGP). Just a few days ago I watched on national television when the Senate President(Senator Godswill Akpabio) was giving ultimatum to the IGP. I know that by the grace of God they’re working on it.

“Those people(hoodlums) can hide but they’ll never know peace. The death of that innocent mobile policeman will surely catch up with them. I want to beg the IGP to please talk to his men so that they should go after these people. We learnt that they ran to Ghana before but now they’re back to prepare for the election. They’re hiding under the coverage of the state government to do what they’re doing.

“The members of the Edo State Vigilante where among those involved in that Thursday shooting of the mobile policeman. They’re still carrying pump action guns all around the town. I want the IGP to look into this and ensure that there’s peace during the forthcoming election in Edo State.”

On the issue of the alleged diversion of federal government palliatives by the Edo State Government, Comrade Okungbowa stressed: “I don’t see what’s stopping the governor from distributing these palliatives to all the nooks and crannies of the state. We are not against the claim that he has given some of the palliatives to the CAN(Christian Association of Nigeria) and moslem members.

“It’s not everybody in the state that’s a christian or moslem. We have the Oweigbes; we have the Ogbonis; we have the Osopekans etc. We have all kinds of beliefs in this state. At least this palliatives should have been shared amongst everbody. By giving it only to christians and moslems he neglected our traditional rulers who should have a big role to play in the sharing of these palliatives.”

According to Comrade Okungbowa, “Governor Godwin Obaseki also gave the palliatives to his party (PDP) leaders who started rebagging it so that they will share it in the forthcoming governorship election. This is what the governor have always been doing. I want to beg the FG that when next they’re bringing palliatives to Edo State there should be serious public awareness about it.

“I want to thank the youths who were able to discover where the palliatives were kept and I want to intimate them to put their ears to the ground as there are still more of these palliatives in PDP party leaders houses/warehouses.”
