On Wednesday morning Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon, the Proprietor of Pacesetter Group of Schools in Abuja, melted hearts with his display of empathy for the less privileged.
Imansuangbon (aka the Riceman) had that faithful morning called at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Uhogua, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State typical of his yearly Christmas season visitation to the place.
As soon as his entourage, which included Isaiah Osifo, a former Chief of Staff in the Edo State Government and Kennedy Odion, Chairman of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) arrived at the Camp with a truckload of essential items the whole atmosphere became charged with excitement leading some people into shedding tears of joy in anticipation of what lays in wait.
The anticipation of the crowd of over 5,000 residents of the camp was not in vain as the visitor came in with what can be regarded as one of the highest donations to the facility in recent times with hundreds of bags and cartons of food items, crates of beverages and other sundry items plus a huge sum of money.
Welcoming the visitors, the founder of the Home for the Needy which manages the facility, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, poured encomium on the Riceman for his regular show of love to the internally displaced people in the camp.
He averred that the economic situation in the country presently his worrisome but that despite that Barrister Imansuangbon still gives freely to the less privileged a sign that he is emphatic by nature.
In his remarks, Barrister Imansuangbon charged the kids in the facility never to despair or give up hope as good tidings lay in waiting for them in the future. He encouraged them to face their studies as education will eventually become a major determinant of their success in life endeavors.
He charged President Bola Tinubu to address the issue of insecurity like banditry and abduction which is pervading the length and breadth of the country and which has caused a whole lot of destruction in its wake. He appealed to the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to pay a visit to the facility this Christmas season as he joins the residents in celebration.
