Edo police boss promises criminals hard times

Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, Abutu Yaro, has assured the people of the state of the command’s desire to ensure that crimes and criminalities are reduced to the barest minimum.

He was speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Festus Alenkhe, in Benin City.

Welcoming him Alenkhe said that the union would always be ready to support him in his fight against crimes and criminalities.

Alenkhe informed him that the Council is on the verge of setting up a peace resolution committee to liaise with the police on issues of mutual interest. He appealed to the Commissioner to nominate a representative of the police to be a member of the committee.

Answering a question on the issue of killer herdsmen and other criminals operating around the state, Yaro promised that the command will tackle the issue headlong.

Abutu Yaro got posted to Edo State Command two weeks ago succeeding Philip Ogbadu who has retired from service after 35 years service.
