Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South South region have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as their sole candidate for the 2027 Presidential election. They also endorsed the four governors of APC states in the region as their flagbearers in the governorship election.
The endorsement been the outcome of a stakeholders meeting of the party big wigs and officials in the region held in Benin City on Saturday.
Announcing the decision via a communique at the end of the meeting Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, stated that the endorsement of President Tinubu is as a result of “his reforms and policies to reposition Nigeria.”
Going further, they commended Mr. President “for his uncommon love and support for the South-South region, which is clearly reflected in the support for the emergence of a Senate President. from the region.”
They also took cognizance of “the massive developmental projects in the region, including but not limited to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.”
Passing a vote of confidence on the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, they asserted that their decision was based “on his outstanding leadership, for uniting the South-South region, and for his support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.”
