Edo NUJ Chairman appeals to students, youths to shun cultism, criminalities

Comrade Festus Alenkhe, Chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), has charged students, and indeed youths, to abide by the law in their undertakings. 

He was speaking when executive members of the National Association of University Students(NAUS) led by Comrade Destiny Osahon Esosa, the Chairman of the Edo State Campus Monitoring Committee of the association paid him a courtesy call in his office in Benin.

In his opening remarks, Comrade Destiny appreciated the NUJ Chairman for his service and commitment to the journalism profession over the years which has gone a long way to motivate a generation of youths. 

He disclosed that the NAUS is the highest decision making body of university students which has a working relationship with other students union bodies and among others ensure that the university environment is conducive to learning. 

Comrade Destiny solicited for the support of the NUJ for the NAUS planned media engagement with governorship candidates of the political parties in the 21st September, 2024,Edo State governorship poll, where the candidates are expected to give highlights of their manifestoes. 

Responding, Comrade Alenkhe promised that the media is always prepared to offer support to the student body while advising them to shun crimes like cultism and embrace the law of the land. 

The Edo NUJ Chairman charged the students to always get the commitment of politicians on what they intend to do to better their(students) lives.
