A large number of people showed up last Friday as the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party(LP), Peter Obi, visited Esanland in Edo State. Among those that received him was the LP senatorial standard bearer for Edo Central, Osereme Christen Omofoma.
The crowd was so massive that the Presidential candidate had to change his routine for the day as he couldn’t get access to the planned campaign ground, the market square.
Mr. Obi, who had been in Abia State the previous day said he was grateful for the reception.
“What an awesome and OBIdient crowd in Esan Land ,” he said in a tweet. “I am deeply humbled by the Edo people’s show of love and support.”
Meanwhile, Omofoma, has charged his constituents to be ready for the desired dividends of democracy that he will be pushing forth for their benefit.
He said: “We need to work unanimously to enthrone systems that will guarantee political stability, good policy formulation, social security, youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and agricultural revolution to protect our people from limitations that restrain them from achieving their potential.”
