Nigeria Police authority has launched a manhunt after escapees of the Kuje Prison break three days ago in Abuja.
Speaking in an interview with journalists, the Head of Police Patrol Team in Utako area of Abuja, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Peter Usuhor, stated that they have been mandated by their office to leave no stone unturned in the search and rearrest of the Kuje Prison break escapees.
A cursory list of names of the escapees include: Yusuf Yuri, Sunday Moses, Musa Addisa, Johnson Tunde, Kingsley Prince and Okoh Kudia. Others are, Aminu Abdulmumini, Yunisah Atiya, Nuri Abdullahi, Attahiru Mohammed, and Muktar Jega.
According to ASP Usuhor, “we are going to use both human and technological resources to search for the escapees and l have assured my office that there shall be no hidden place for the escapees. They shall all be rearrested.”
He reiterated that the Police cannot succeed without the collaboration of the general public and he therefore appealed to everyone not to hoard information that could lead to the rearrest of the escapees.
“As police, we work in synergy with members of the general public to record a resounding success in the line of our duties. So, as always, I appeal to any member of the general public who has useful information that could lead to the rearrest of the escapees to contact us without fear,” he said.
