Nigeria Cannot Continue Like This (NCC-LIT), a frontline political movement, which has been rallying Nigerians at home and Diaspora to save Nigeria from widely acknowledged leadership failure of the two dominant political parties, APC and PDP, has set out to fulfil two incentives for Nigerians in Diaspora to support NCC-LIT’s TakeBackNigeria 2023 elections campaign through its revolutionary brand of homegrown democracy model called “Resident Democracy.”

To guarantee transparency, accountability and trust that support resources contributed by Nigerian Diasporans towards the TakeBackNigeria (TBN) struggle would be honestly administered and meticulously utilized to optimum value, NCC-LIT proposed to its Diaspora networks that it would set up in Nigeria a committee of highly reputable and nationally recognized citizens.

All Diaspora donations to the TakeBackNigeria global account shall be lodged in a single treasury account which shall be administered by a committee of these high integrity Nigerians.

Our reporters were informed that every penny donated to the Resident Democracy TakeBackNigeria account shall be published online every 24 hours all year round up to the last day of the 2023 elections.

Furthermore, donors shall be registered with an IT generated code stating how much they donated, their oversea country of abode, date and other particulars of their contribution.

According to NCC-LIT, these measures are to guarantee that all categories of donors, including those who wished to remain anonymous, can verify online that their donations were duly received and are on record for history and posterity.

NCC-LIT explained that with IT enabled donation counter, every donation, each donor’s code, total funds received to the penny into the Resident Democracy TakeBackNigeria account, sums utilized and their expenditure purposes shall be displayed online.

The movement said that this is to make it easy for scientific verification and simultaneous real-time global auditing by Diaspora donors, contibutors nationwide, anti-corruption institutions like EFCC, ICPC, independent public finance transparency NGOs and Nigerians in general.

Our reporters also learnt that on March 1st, NCC-LIT Diaspora networks requested for a list of 100 Nigerians cutting across tribes, geopolitical zones and religious divides, comprising Nigerians, who have a track record of consistency in good governance advocacy and better life for the suffering masses of Nigeria.

NCC-LIT further informed us that the list was deliberated upon by Diaspora networks across the five continents of North & South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and African countries.

The movement explained that the list was finally scaled down to 25 to ease inter-personality liaison among the proposed trustees, speedy administrative decisions and disbursement of funds to the campaign’s action frontiers.

The global coordinator of NCC-LIT confirmed to our reporters that the movement has set out to reach and officially secure the consent of the listed Nigerians to serve their fatherland in the task of administering the campaign donations for promoting and propagating the Resident Democracy campaign, otherwise also called The Wa Kruga Manifesto.

5th Principle of Resident Democracy

We also learnt that in furtherance of the partnership between NCC-LIT at home and Nigerians in Diaspora, NCC-LIT’s national council also ratified last Monday, March 14th, 2022, a fifth principle of its Resident Democracy ideology, also called the Wa Kruga Manifesto.

The new principle proposed that upon successful ascention to power at the centre and having clear majority control of both lower and upper chambers of Nigeria’s 469-member National Assembly, an NCC-LIT political party controlled federal government shall speedily legislate into law one new Senate seat and four new House of Representative seats which shall be reserved for appropriately qualified Nigerians in Diaspora across the five continents, including Africa.

Details of the internal memo embodying this resolution which our reporter obtained by email outlined both the fifth new principle of Resident Democracy along with the four other tenets of NCC-LIT’s Resident Democracy ideology.
