Yuletide: Edo Police boss warns motorists on drunkenness

The Commissioner Of Police Edo State, Mohammed  Dankwara, has warned motorists and other road users to be extremely careful and adhere to the rule of engagement when driving.

He enjoins them to avoid act of drunkenness and other offences under the motor traffic regulations while driving during the Yuletide Seasons.

He gave the warning as a result of a fatal motor/tricycle accident that occurred in the early hours of yesterday along First Ugbor Road by John Edebia Junction, G.R.A Benin City, which claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman, Mrs. Roseline Omorogbe, who was a passenger in a tricycle.

The accident also caused severe bodily injuries on Mrs. Regina Jeffery and a tricycle rider. The two injured persons were immediately admitted at Benin Medical Care, along Adesuwa Road, G.R.A, Benin City for treatments while the deceased woman was deposited at Stella Obasanjo, Hospital Mortuary, Off Sapele Road, Benin City for autopsy and preservation.
