Scoop: Encrypted message giving in depth details of sleaze in an agency in Edo State

Rights activist and Director of Contact and Mobilisation of the Labour Party (LP) in the Diaspora, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor has stated that his involvement in many ‘necessary troubles’ has marked him as a man wanted dead by notorious politicians in Nigeria.

“Very soon, we are going to retire all the notorious politicians. I am currently trying to work with the National Assembly members to do away with what’s called security votes. It is criminal. People are suffering and every month you’re giving some governors billions of naira as security votes.

“Are we at war? Even if we are at war we are at war of hunger because we are hungry in this country. You cannot give a man such amount of money and he will not become mad. That’s why Wike(Governor of Rivers State) is not a human being. He is a mad man. We are also experiencing the same thing in Edo State where the governor and his Chief of Staff will go out and snatch ballot boxes. Where they will arrest innocent people with DSS and police.

“The advantage that I have is that I am a Canadian citizen. The Canadian Government know that I am here. If you touch me the Nigeria Government cannot help you when the Canadian Government ask them. That was what happened when I was arrested during the Endsars protest in 2020. They gave the Nigerian Government an ultimatum to release me or face the consequences.

“Most of them doing this(electoral violence) will not enter America and Europe again. They’ll be here with us. It will no longer be business as usual to steal our money here and go and develop another country. That is why I am saying that security vote is fraudulent. Every Nigerian must join me in this to ensure that we take it from them so that it can be used to provide infrastructure and other things that can be of utmost benefit to the citizens.”

Going further on his ‘necessary troubles’ he recalled how be took on Danladi Umar, Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal(CCT), when he molested a security guard at the Banex Plaza in Abuja.

“Danladi Umar went to Banex Plaza in Abuja. He wanted to park his car and the security guard directed him to the right place. He came out of his car and slapped the security guard. Policemen who are supposed to maintain law and order descended on the young man. I took Danladi to court and dragged him to the floor of the Senate.

“I told the senators who were trying to be funny that they may not return to the Senate after the next election. In the sane world some people pay the ultimate price for others to live. I will continue to do what I am doing because I know that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.”

Reacting to the alleged threat to his life because he challenged the rigging plot of an aide of the Edo State Governor during the last Saturday House of Assembly elections, he said: “They threatened my life. These are gangsters, people who believe in cultism. But let me tell you something. God owns my life. Nobody can take it. I am not afraid of them. They know that. I have been around. I am not a kid.

“I have been doing this(activism) for more than thirty years. They can’t take my life. Nobody kills a good man. My advocacy is about good governance. It is not about myself. I don’t get paid for this. I don’t sell my stories on YouTube. I am a humanist.”

On the recent court pronouncement on Abba Kyari, a police officer standing trial for a range of criminal issues, Eholor said: “Let me salute the courage of Justice Emeka Nwite. We need men of courage in our judiciary. When we have men of courage in our judiciary Nigeria will become the best country in the world.

“Nigeria has laws but the problem is they’re not implemented because men are institutions in Nigeria.”
