Convener of the New Nigeria Group(NNG), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, who is seeking to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), has declared that his chances of getting the party ticket are very bright and as such he is certain of achieving his ambition.

He made the declaration while on a consultation visit to the Edo State PDP head office in Benin City on Wednesday.

Going into his reasons for aiming to succeed President Buhari in Aso Rock Villa come next year, the erstwhile Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group(NESG) and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria(MAN) among several others recalled his experience on his numerous travels outside the country whereby countries that don’t have the huge human and mineral resources that Nigeria is blessed with are moving up the ladder of development in comparison to the contrary situation that is being witnessed in Nigeria.

He said that he decided to throw in the towel seeing that Nigeria is suffering economic deprivation and insecurity among many troubles under the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mazi Ohuabunwa stressed that he has all the qualities that is needed by anybody wanting to lead the country to an era of prosperity.

He affirmed that his choice of the PDP is informed by the fact that the party, judging from its past achievements while in control of the central government, has a grasp of how to solve the numerous problems bedeviling the country.

Leading members of the state executive of the PDP to receive the presidential hopeful, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the Chairman of the party said that Mazi Ohuabunwa’s pedigree speaks volumes of his capabilities to solve Nigeria’s myriad of problems if he gets elected as the President.

He assured Mazi Ohuabunwa that he will have the support of the party’s delegates at its forthcoming national convention where its presidential candidate will be chosen.

Among the state executives of the PDP in attendance at the consultation meeting were its Vice Chairman Edo South District, Harrison Omagbon; Chris Nehikhare (State Publicity Secretary) and Tony Anenih Jnr. (State Organising Secretary).
