Leadership of the Third Phase of the Presidential Amnesty Programme(PAP) Edo State Chapter has distanced itself from the activities of a self-acclaimed national chairman of the group.

Peretei Amokachi, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Edo State Governor on Waterways Security and Surveillance, said that Bayelsa State born ‘General’ Elaye Slaboh, who is parading himself as the national chairman of the Third Phase, is an impostor who is just out to deceive and probably swindle innocent members of the public who are not aware of his game of roulette.

Amokachi adviced all beneficiaries of the amnesty programme; the management and staff of the PAP and other stakeholders to beware of any ploy or manipulation that the said impostor may come up with to achieve his sinister intention.

According to Amokachi, “it doesn’t speak well for us who are supposed to be role models to many watching us to now resort to acting dubious just so as to be seen as the smartest in the pack. Generations unborn will never forgive us if we do so.”

In his submission, Peter Abiodun Edah, Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of the Third Phase Amnesty Programme said: “Elaye Slaboh is going beyond boundaries. For him to keep parading himself as the National Chairman of the Third Phase of the Amnesty Programme is calling for crisis after he has served his tenure in acting capacity and an election was duly conducted whereby Preye Ekpebide emerged as National Chairman.

“He should just let peace to reign. Meanwhile, I am urging all stakeholders of the Niger Delta to be on the lookout for any mischief he may desire to cause so that his unbecoming action could be nipped in the bud.”
