Ex-Niger Delta Agitators preach peace, suspends planned protest

The Niger Delta Amnesty Delegates Network(NDADN) has given notice that it has suspended, till further notice, its earlier planned protest. 

In a jointly signed press statement by Engr. Alfred Mewariwei Boyed, its National Chairman; Barrister Nimilatei Wealth Isaiah, its Secretary and Barrister Eti Confidence, the Legal Adviser, NDADN said that the suspension of the protest “is due to the intervention of stakeholders in the Niger Delta particularly HRH Henry Binidodogha(Past National Chairman, Phase 1), ‘General’ Aroni Oputu(Present National Chairman, Phase 1), ‘General’ Elaye Slaboh (National Chairman, Phase 3), ‘General’  Abraham Vwaghia(National Secretary, Phase 2). 

“Security operatives which includes the Inspector General Of Police(IGP); the Assistant Inspector General(AIG) of Police Zone 17, Abuja; Commissioner of Police(CP) Delta State and other well meaning stakeholders including the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme(PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro(PhD).”

In conclusion they appealed to “ex-agitators, who are beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme(PAP) to give the amnesty office sometime to enable them respond to our demands.”
