Comrade Scott Uyiosasere Ogunseri(aka DJ MOG), President of the Niger Delta Students Union Government(NIDSUG), has another feather added to his cap as the Senate of the Union has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the National 6th Executive Council(NEC) led by him and elongated its tenure.

Giving reasons for its action during a plenary sitting on July 29, 2024, the Senate said: “The Senate expresses its unwavering confidence in the 6th National Executive Council (NEC) citing their exemplary dedication, transparency and efficiency.

“Significant milestones have been achieved in governance, advocacy, project implementation and fostering unity within the union despite numerous challenges. In recognition of these achievements and the ongoing efforts of the current council, the senate has decided to extend their tenure by 12 months.”

According to the Senate, “this extension will ensure the completion of crucial tasks essential for the continued growth and success of the union.”

Giving a break down of the reasons for the elongation of tenure the senate stressed that it includes constitution review and amendment; completion of ongoing projects; initiation and completion of upcoming projects; proper electoral planning process and to permanently eradicate imposters from the union.
