The Edo State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has eulogized the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, on his 81st birthday praying that God continues to bless him with “good health, peace of mind, and many more fruitful years of impactful service to humanity and our dear nation.”
In the congratulatory message signed by Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party, the PDP stated: “The leadership and entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State Chapter, heartily congratulate and celebrate our esteemed elder statesman and distinguished leader, Chief Tom Ikimi, on the joyous occasion of his 81st birthday.
“Chief Ikimi’s unwavering commitment to the growth and stability of our great party, his unmatched contributions to national development, and his enduring legacy of statesmanship remain a beacon of inspiration to us all.”
Going further, the PDP stressed that “as a pillar of wisdom and a guiding voice in our political family, your dedication to truth, justice, and progress has shaped the path for many within and beyond Edo State. Today, we honor your sacrifices, your strength, and your vision.”
Chief Ikimi was the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1995 and 1998 in the General Sani Abacha era.
