A Labour Party(LP) support group for Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon(aka The Riceman), ‘The Riceman Movement’, has assured traditional rulers in the state that traditional institutions would be accorded appropriate respect if Imansuangbon is supported to win next year’s governorship election. It called on traditional rulers in the state to pray for him to win the LP’s party primary.
National Coordinator of the group, Emmanuel Oshake, who spoke through a press statement, said over 80 percent of LP members are rooting for Imansuangbon.
Oshake said Imansuangbon would use culture and tourism to boost tourists attraction to the state. He said Imansuangbon has taken notes of the advise of the Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II and would ensure implementation once elected.
His words, “We have gone round the state to visit our party leaders and they have assured us that they will support the nomination of Barrister Imansuangbon. Our desire to volunteer to work for Imansuangbon is because we know he has the backing of our revered traditional institutions.
“We are giving our assurances that Imansuangbon will respect traditional institutions. He will accord the monarchs their dues and work hard to improve infrastructure in their domains.”
