The former governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has commiserated with Senator Roland Owie over the passage of his wife, Helen.
In his condolence message to the bereaved Senator Owie, Obaseki stated: “I am deeply saddened by the painful news of the passing of Lady Helen Owie, beloved wife of my dear brother, Senator Rowland Owie, and extend my heartfelt condolences to him and his family.
“A virtuous, kind, graceful, and compassionate mother, Lady Helen was a rare gem who contributed immensely to the development of her community.”
According to Obaseki, “she espoused strong family values and embodied the finest qualities of motherhood. For over five decades, she stood faithfully beside her husband, Senator Rowland Owie, serving as a source of peace and pillar of support in his effort towards building a better Nigeria and advancing causes for the betterment of the people of Edo State, particularly in the Edo South Senatorial District.
“A beacon of hope and unity, she was always available to provide good counsel to all those who sought wisdom from her. She will be remembered for her peaceful nature, quiet strength, kind heart, conviviality, and love for others. She will be sorely missed.”
