Management of the Edo State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have dissolved the Comrade Osahon Obasuyi led executive of the council.
Coming to the Secretariat of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Benin City on Wednesday afternoon, the protesters said that they sent the exco packing and brought in a five men Technical Committee led by Ehis Osagie to put aright what the dissolved exco had wrongly placed by not adhering to the dictates of the Council’s constitution on conducting an election to bring in a new team at the expiration of its tenure.
The protesters led by Comrade Barthlomew Okuodo said they had to take prompt action of dissolving the Comrade Obasuyi led Committee to save the group from total collapse.
Said Comrade Okoudo, “the management of the youth council met today and at the end of our meeting, we took a resolution to formally dissolve the exco of the youth council and to that extent, the exco of the youth council has been dissolved in line with the provision of our constitution.”
Comrade Obasuyi, in a chat, described the protesters as impostors not known as members of the Council.
