Defending Champions Edo Queens lost gallantly to Remo Stars Ladies in a thrilling all- time classic game of the Super Six showpiece.
The only goal of the epic match came in 85th minute of play through a free kick by Olasubomi Ogundele, of Remo Stars Ladies just few minutes to the end of the game.
Edo Queens did everything to level up but their late minutes efforts yielded no result. But kudos must be given to the players for a good fight. Edo Queens took dominance of the game from the beginning to the end.
Luck was just against them. They made several attempts at the opponent’s goal but the Remo Ladies goalkeeper, Charlotte Adjie, rescued her team from humiliation. Morufa Ademola of Edo Queens also did some wonderful saves for Edo Queens. Both teams showed potentiality of a champion.
The Edo Queens will need to bounce back in their next game against Rivers Angels on Monday, May 12th, in continuation of the Super Six championship campaign.
