The National Coordinator, Child Education and Crime Eradication Foundation, CECEF, Ambassador Evelyn Eyo-Honesty Ogbogu, has called on states yet to domesticate the Child Rights Act to do so in order to end all injustices against the girl child and children generally.
Ambassador Evelyn Eyo-Honesty Ogbogu made the call in Calabar to mark this year’s Day of the Girl Child with the theme “Digital Generation, our Generation.”
She urged state governments yet to domesticate the Child Rights Act to hasten the process as this will help fight alot of challenges the girl child faces, such as rape, assaults, abuse and trafficking.
Ambassador Evelyn Eyo-Honesty Ogbogu appealed to government and stakeholders to improve on gender equality policies to serve as a stepping stone for the girl child to attain any height she desires in the society.
The National Coordinator, CECEF, charged every girl child to be unstoppable in their choices of career irrespective of the norms currently in the world. And to see women like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Obi Ezekwesili, Pauline Tallen, Evelyn Eyo-Honesty Ogbogu, Ibiba Don Pedro to mention a few. While calling on the girl child to raise their voices and say no and mean no.
CECEF wished female children around the globe a happy 2021 Day of the Girl Child. While resolving that the NGO will continue to standby the girl child.
She called on friends and well wishers to donate sanitary pads for the operation reach 1,000,000 girl child.
