“Just recently, when we were to arrest him I was in operation in Enugu when I called Lagos that they should move to Iguobazuwa and arrest him.

“The day they went to Benin to do their papers they were still at Ekiadolor when somebody called them that they have arrested Sani with other people. They called me and I told them to go back to Benin and meet the Officer-in-Charge(OC) anti-kidnapping that he should release those people for further interrogation.

“But the Commissioner of Police(CP) said that they should join and do the operation together. We in Force CID we don’t follow command to do work together. So, I asked them to go back to Lagos.

“As I was coming back from Enugu on Friday(March 5th, 2021) I branched in Benin. I saw the suspects and interrogated them. I said ‘yes these are the criminals that we are looking for.’ Then I returned to Lagos.

“On Sunday(March 7th, 2021), I returned to Benin and took over them yesterday. We profiled them. We changed their location and this morning(Tuesday, March 9th, 2021), we moved them to Lagos,” he revealed.

Going further, he said: “We don’t release criminals because they are killing the police.”
