In his resignation letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure, and  the Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of the party, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, the former governorship aspirant, who said he became uncomfortable with the value system of the party, however, said his resignation does not change his ambition to govern Edo State.

He said: “I’m uncomfortable with the value system of the Labour Party (LP), hence my resignation. However, my intention to govern Edo State has not changed. I will drive it through Peace, Unity and Prosperity (PUP) Culture.

“This started since 2013. It is founded on a strong value system. This is why I have stepped away from the LP. I only resigned from LP, but very much in the race of governing Edo State.”

He added that “the reason I am running away from LP is  inconstancy in value system. I’m trained to accept risk. I’m still in the gubernatorial race to drive the transformation of Edo State through PUP culture
