The leadership of the Edo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) led by its Chairman, Comrade Kehinde Osagiede, has commiserated with one of its leaders, Comrade Titus Akhigbe on the death of his wife, Mrs. Irene Akhigbe.

Comrade Osagiede while leading SWAN leaders on a condolence visit to the residence of Comrade Akhigbe in Uteh, a suburb of Benin, assured him that as his late wife lived a life of purity and hardwork her legacies will always be talked of in years to come.

He promised the widower that he should always have it in his mind that his colleagues in the media world are with him and will always be there for him whenever he needs their support. He affirmed that the SWAN members most especially will be on hand to offer their hands of fellowship at all times during and even after the burial of the industrious woman.

In his response, Comrade Akhigbe said that the death of his wife came unexpectedly as she had no prior history of any health challenge. He thanked the SWAN for its show of empathy and assured that he will keep the flag flying in his deceased wife’s life long ambition to promote quality education.

Mrs. Irene Akhigbe, the proprietress of Brighter Galaxy Academy in Uteh, in Ikpobha Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, died in the early hours of Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
