Edo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Dr. Patrick Ebojele, on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

In a message signed on behalf of the association by Comrade Kehinde Osagiede, its Chairman and Comrade Moses Idahosa, its Secretary, the Edo SWAN described the appointment as “exceptionally well-deserved”.
‎
Going forth, the SWAN averted that “‎this appointment is a fitting recognition of Dr. Ebojele’s towering professional stature, impeccable integrity, and unmatched commitment to excellence in all round journalism, public communication, and governance.
‎
“‎A consummate media scholar, an accomplished administrator, and one of the most highly regarded communicators of this era, Dr. Ebojele has consistently demonstrated a rare blend of competence, leadership, humility and intellectual depth required of a modern public information manager.
‎
“‎We thank His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, for his thoughtful and visionary decision to appoint Dr Ebojele to his new role.
‎
“‎This act reflects the Governor’s commitment to meritocracy, outstanding professionalism, and his desire to strengthen the public communication department of his government by entrusting it to an individual with extraordinary capability.”
‎
According to SWAN, “‎beyond his broad influence across mainstream journalism, Dr. Ebojele has made enduring contributions to sports journalism in Nigeria, helping to elevate the standards of sports reportage, analysis, and documentation.
‎
“‎He has been instrumental in mentoring several young sports journalists, promoting ethical sports journalism, and strengthening the visibility of local and national sporting activities through accurate, objective, and development-driven reporting.
‎
“‎His commitment to nurturing sports media professionalism has contributed significantly to the growth of sports coverage and enhancement of the sports communication landscape of Nigeria.”
‎
SWAN affirmed that Dr. Ebojele’s ‎”illustrious career, which spans decades of practice in reputable institutions such as Channels Television, the New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper, and Comet Newspaper, attests to his depth of experience and capacity for incisive reporting and strategic communication.
‎
‎”In addition to his journalistic achievements, he has distinguished himself as a lecturer, researcher, and public administrator, making him exceptionally prepared to drive a more strategic, transparent, and people-oriented public information management system for the state.”
‎
‎Edo SWAN expressed confidence that “Dr. Ebojele will bring renewed clarity, dynamism, innovation, and enhanced professionalism to the Edo State Government’s communication engagements.
‎
‎”His appointment signals a new era of credible, coherent, and citizen-focused public communication. ‎As he assumes this pivotal responsibility, we assure him of our unwavering support and total cooperation. We look forward to a harmonious and productive relationship that will further strengthen the synergy between the Edo State Government and the sports media community.”
‎
S‎WAN concluded by wishing the new appointee “resounding success as he undertakes this noble and consequential assignment.”
