Ogbakha-Edo Indigenous People’s Welfare Foundation, a sociocultural group, has mourned the passage of ex-IGP Solomon Ehigiator Arase.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Professor Sam Guobadia, the group said: “The departure of this illustrious son of the Benin Kingdom is an irreparable loss. Dr. Arase was not merely a consummate professional; he was a man of rare integrity, a visionary leader, and a loving father whose wisdom, humility, and patriotism touched lives across all strata of society.
“To the Benin Kingdom, he was a beacon of honor—an arrowhead of sociocultural renaissance who constantly projected the values of dignity, discipline, and service.
“To Nigeria, he was a chief crime fighter, reformer, and security strategist whose ingenuity and courage helped to strengthen law enforcement institutions, restore public trust, and advance the cause of national security.
Going further, Ogbakha Edo averred that “his legacy of dedication to peace and justice will remain indelible in the annals of our history.
“In this period of grief, we urge his family and loved ones to take solace in the fact that Solomon Arase lived a life not just well spent, but legendary—a life that future generations will continue to draw inspiration from.
“He embodied the noblest ideals of service and sacrifice, leaving behind footprints that no tide of time can wash away.”
In conclusion, Ogbakha-Edo stated: “While we mourn his departure, we also celebrate the triumph of his life—a life of honour, courage, intellect, and fulfilment.”
