Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon has for several years now remained consistent in his quest to govern Edo State and have never faltered in this regard even with the betrayals that tend to greet his ambition.
In other times, the man popularly referred to as the “Riceman” displayed maturity and loyalty by succumbing to pressure from his party to step-down for reasons that are always advanced by the party.
The philanthropist had made his intention known all this time that his coming out was not to make up the number, nor negotiate for political opportunities.
In the 2020 governorship elections Imansuangbon was again prevailed upon to jettison his governorship ambition to pave way for the emergency of Governor Godwin Obaseki following his running battle with his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then Imansuangbon has again made his intention known to be the Governor of Edo State on the Labour Party(LP) platform.
This time around, Imansuangbon has again expressed his plans, not just to govern the state, but rescue it from underdevelopment and provide the needed leadership that the people lacked for the past seven years. His education and experience, as an educationist, lawyer and business man has prepared him for the task.
The Riceman, who hails from Ewohinmi in Esan South East Local Government Area, is loved by the downtrodden in the state. He has championed many causes and his philanthropic gesture has endeared him to many households across the state and beyond.
Outside his annual education competition where he distributes various gift items, including computers and award of scholarships to successful students, his annual distribution of rice and cash gifts have helped many without hope of where the next meal will come from.
For the growth and development of Edo State, the time to support the right person is now, and Imansuangbon is that person who the cap fits.
