Edo 2024: Imansuangbon’s govt will have human face and transparency, says group

A group under the aegis of Imansuangbon Solidarity Movement (ISM) has said that the Labour Party (LP) governorship hopeful for the 2024 poll in Edo State, Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon(aka ‘The Riceman’) would run a transparent government with human face.

The convener of the group, Eng. Isaac Ehigiamusoe, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin.

Ehigiamusoe also said that Imansuangbon who is an educationist and philanthropist, would bring to bare his wealth of experience as an employer of labour in the governance of the acclaimed heartbeat state.

The ISM convener, therefore, appealed to the people to ensure the nomination and subsequent election of ‘The Riceman’ as Governor of Edo State come 2024.

According to him, “I am sure we are all aware of the state of things in Edo State presently where the peoples voices have been silenced by the governor; anyone who dare speaks is punished by way of property confiscation or demolition.

“No one knows what is happening in the state any longer; how contracts are awarded or for how much. There is so much secrecy in the governance of Edo State now. While other states are busy publishing what is accruing to their states as revenue and from what sources, we can’t say the same about that of our dear state.

“Our situation have become that of the more you look, the less you see. They only let us see what they want us to through lies they churn out on social media.

“All these will become a thing of the past as Imansuangbon hopes to ensure transparency in governance and ensure that the peoples voices are heard when it comes to policy and programmes of the government.”

While noting that the LP remained the party to beat in the poll, Ehigiamusoe, however, urged the party to nominate and field Barrister Imansuangbon as their candidate if the party truly desire to takeover the governance of Edo in 2024.

“We must not miss it this time. LP must remain united and ensure that an experienced candidate with good reach is fielded to square up with the candidates of other political parties.

“Imansuangbon does not only have the experience, he has the reach and he is also well connected to the people across the three senatorial districts of the state,” he stated.
