The Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation (DOEF) has stated that the Children’s Day “presents ample opportunities to highlight the issues that affect children’s rights and welfare.”
This much form part of the 2025 Children’s Day message by the Founder and Director General (DG) of the Foundation, Dr. Osahon Enabulele on Tuesday morning.
According to him, “Children in contemporary Nigeria constitute a vulnerable group in society as they are exposed to both opportunities and threats at an early age.”
Going further, he charged for greater attention to be paid “on the rights of children to education, health care, and other societal opportunities; elimination of all forms of child abuse, including child labour and exploitation and access to nutritious food and safe drinking water for children.”
Others include “access to safe, quality, and inclusive learning environments and protection of children from all forms of harm.”
The Past President of the World Medical Association (WMA) reaffirmed the Foundation’s “unequivocal conviction that every child is a promise; A promise of new ideas, fresh energy, and a better tomorrow.”
He disclosed that as part of the Foundation’s key educational initiatives to advance the future of children, “the Foundation will be organizing a state-wide Inter-School’s Debate starting from Egor Local Government Area on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10am at the Egor LGA Secretariat.”
