Former governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has commended the MD/CEO of BeeTV, Best Mbiere, for her resilience, and ability to report the truth.
Oshiomhole made the commendation at the official opening ceremony of the BeeTV digital studio in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
According to him, her reports are always, unbiased, fair and accurate and she has been reporting the truth, urging her to use her facility to commit to protecting and putting Nigerians first.
“I think your ability to bring everybody together shows clearly that you have been married to the truth, because the truth will hurt but it does not require supporters club. It takes the person of good heart to respect and report the truth.”
In her speech titled ’embracing the power of the media: a journey begins’, Mbiere said the role of the media has evolved. She maintained that the media possess the power to shape opinions, challenge norms and inspire change as it is a power that carries responsibility.
“Our commitment to truth and objectivity will be the cornerstone of BeeTV news. Innovation and technology are propelling us forward at a breathtaking pace, and we must remain agile to adapt to these changes.”
She urged the media to seize the opportunities presented by digital media and emerging technologies to reach wider audiences and engage them in new and meaningful ways.
Personalities at the event included Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, Honorable Clem Agba, Honorable Valentine Asuen and Senator Mathew Urhoghide.
Highlight of the event was support and donations made by the dignitaries at the event.
