Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has promised that he will build on the achievements of the governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, if eventually God makes him to succeed the incumbent come 2024, adding that his main goal in his desire to govern the state is to bring succour to the people including those in the IDPs.

He made the promise while on a visit to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp situated at Uhogua, a community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State to fete them with food, drinks and cash donations all running into millions of naira.

The educationist, who is the proprietor of Pacesetters Academy in Abuja, revealed that he does not pretend and he has always shown interest to govern the state and bring dividends of good governance to the downtrodden people. He appealed to Governor Obaseki, whom he described as a man with good intentions to better the living condition of the people, and other well-meaning Nigerians to always make themselves available whenever the need arises to uplift the living standard of the people in the IDPs camp.

Barrister Imansuangbon, better known as the Riceman, praised the Commandant of the IDPs camp, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho for his yeoman effort in ensuring that the children and even adults in the camp are well taken care of. He said God will count the Commandant’s selflessness as a positive attribute and thus shower him with blessings beyond his expectations.

Impressed to hear that the kids in the camp are frontrunners in their different courses in tertiary institutions scattered around the country, Barrister Imansuangbon applauded them for focusing on their educational pursuits and by so doing excelling wherever they find themselves. He said the children in the camp will shape the future of the country when they grow.

Thereafter, he and his wife, Kate, who were celebrating the Silver Jubilee of their wedding, promised that henceforth they will annually dole out cash awards of N100,000 each to the male and female students in the camp that emerge the best overall in their academic pursuits.

Earlier, Pastor Folorunsho had welcomed the August visitors and thanked them for their heart of gold in donating loads of food items, soft drinks and cash to the camp. He disclosed that there is acute shortage of food, drugs, educational materials and clothing in the camp while appealing for the support of people of goodwill to change the narrative.

Thereafter, the August visitors were treated to a rendition of melodious christmas songs by the musical troupe of the camp and invited choiristers.
