Obaseki gave the charge on Wednesday when he received the first son of the deceased, Bishop Gordon Osagiede, some family members and top members of the church who were on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin City.

According to the governor, “In whatever you do, please keep her vision alive; keep the spirit of her work alive. Not every man and woman of God would give as much of herself as she did.

“Her work with poor widows in communities and the passion she showed was one of those things that truly endeared me to her; she was just very genuine and real. There are no pretenses about her; saying she is good, is an understatement; we will miss her.

“If I can feel this way about her, I can imagine how those of you who worked with her everyday will feel. She lived and worked for the Lord and now that the Lord wants her.”

Obaseki continued: “She started building something that is very significant; I admonish you, in whatever you do, keep her vision and legacies alive.

“She has left us and the responsibility is now with you to grow the ministry; wherever she is, what she will require of you is to do much more than she did in her lifetime in propagating the world of God.

“We will miss her but we thank God for her life; we are proud that Edo produced someone like her. She was a very kind and cultured person; very decent.

“The only thing we can do is to immortalise her; the best way to immortalize her is to propagate what she lived for and I am sure that you have the endowment and energy to continue from where she stopped,” Obaseki added.

In his remarks, the first son of the deceased, Bishop Gordon Osagiede, noted: “We will continue to make sure that all that was dear to her heart concerning our state will be sustained. We will continue to push and carry everyone along because that is the best way we can carry on her legacy.”
