2023 general elections: Group vows to get over 12.5m votes for Tinubu/Shettima

The defunct CPC Support Group for Tinubu/Shettima has appealed to all loyalists of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) nationwide to mobilize voters for  APC candidates at all levels in the forthcoming general elections.

In a statement by Comrade Godwin Erhahon its National Publicity Secretary, the group appealed “to  faithfuls of the CPC legacy to vote APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with his running mate,  Senator Shettima and all APC national and assembly candidates in this Saturday general elections.”

According to him, “the defunct CPC Support Group is made up of former Chairmen of CPC in the thirty-six states and FCT with Alhaji Kasim Mabo of Kogi State as Chairman and Alhaji Sulaiman Oyaremi of Oyo State as Secretary.”

Addressing  the group in an online meeting last weekend, the Chairman, Alhaji Mabo declared:

“As  aborigines of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Political Heritage, the CPC group shall give effect to the fervent appeal by the President to all patriotic Nigerians to vote for  Tinubu, the political sage cum development wizard.

“We are  aware of the fear of some of the former CPC leaders that they might be marginalized once President Buhari quits the stage. Be rest assured that we have extracted commitment from both Asiwaju and his running mate,  Senator Shettima that we shall be rewarded for our hard work if we do for them, the great work we  have been doing for President Buhari over the years.

“Let us therefore strive hard to deliver to Tinubu in this Saturday election, beyond the over 12.5million votes that we delivered to Buhari in 2011. We cannot afford to do less than the great work we did for General Buhari, as he was then known, in 2011.”
