Why we are rejecting PDP rice – riverine communities

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the riverine communities tucked in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State, have joined the clamour by some other communities in the Edo South Senatorial District to demand for development of their localities ahead of the State House of Assembly polls slated for Saturday, March 18th 2023.

In a chat with Popular News, Pere Ejune, who is an aide of Governor Godwin Obaseki stated that they’re against any form of inducement to curry their sympathy which informed the reason they are rejecting tonnes of bags of rice that were offered them recently.

“Tell the PDP that what we need at the moment are not bags of rice or any form of inducement. Our needs are much tangible and lasting than that. That informed why we are rejecting the bags of rice that were offered us.

“For years now Ajakurama Road has been like a death trap it is not motorable. We are using the window of opportunity offered by the shift in the date of the state House of Assembly polls to Saturday, March 18th, 2023, to plead for the completion of the Udo-Ofunama-Ajakurama Road as earlier promised by the Edo State Government.

“The completion of the road project will be a sign that we are not a forgotten people in that part of the state. Making this demand is the minimal we can do for the betterment of our community,” Ejune rounded up.
