Engr. Ethan Uzamere, the Edo State Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, has assured that his ministry will meet up with the schedule of its core mandate not minding that the current administration will be winding up in a week’s time.
Speaking with journalists on the occasion of the official commissioning of roads within the premises of the Benin Technical College by Governor Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday afternoon, Engr. Uzamere said: “For us in Edo State we know that about 70 percent of the year we have heavy rainfall and most part of the state for the past few years because of lack of planning we are faced with erosion issues which is statewide especially this area.
“It was when Governor Godwin Obaseki decided to come to Benin Technical College in 2017 to kick start the process it was also important for us to kick start the internal roads and the external roads and the full ecosystem around here.
“For the internal roads we have about 2.2km of road network. For the phase one of the Benin Technical College Road we have about 5.2 km ready. We also have a phase two with also some erosion control measures as well.
“Most of our projects today are about 95 percent completed. So it’s just for us to show the people of what we have been doing for the past few years in terms of road construction.”
