Outgone Edo State Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, Engr. Ethan Uzamere, has averred that he needs to do a self reappraisal after been in public service for eight years.
Reacting to a question regarding his next move after a meritorious eight years in public service, Engr. Ethan said: “I cannot accept that now. I have just finished an election.
“I also want to take a break and do a lot of reevaluation on the last few years and see how to move forward. I don’t think it is just about jumping to positions without even doing a self appraisal on my previous appointments.
Giving an assessment of his stewardship in the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, Engr. Uzamere gave kudos to Governor Godwin Obaseki for his foresight and adherence to quality service delivery.
“If you really lived in Edo State prior to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s era it would be very unfair not to give him accolades on roads construction. Where he focused most is in the internal connectivity roads.
“Yes, there were somethings been harped out by some informal media groups of him saying he doesn’t work on federal government roads which is false. We did a lot of work on Benin – Lagos Road. We’re still working on Benin – Abraka Road as we are speaking which will be completed soon etc.”
Before his appointment as the Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, Engr. Ethan had at various time served as the Commissioner for Mining and Energy; Commissioner for Oil and Gas and Chief of Staff to the governor among others.
