We are set for a crime free Yuletide season in Edo State, says PUWOV boss

Residents and visitors to Edo State have been assured of adequate security during and after the festive period.

Speaking in Benin City, the  state coordinator of thePublic Works Volunteers Scheme (PUWOV), Muktar Yusuf-Osagie, said: “the aftermath of the #endsars protest have been so challenging to the government and relevant security agencies in the state which demanded the state government’s going back to the drawing table for a redesigned security architecture which is now taking care of some of the criminal black spots in the state.”

Muktar Yusuf-Osagie said “the state government is harnessing all available openings to bring as many people, groups and agencies to help grow and sustain the security situation of the state which informed the engagement of hands into the PUWOV scheme to ensure that the entire state is adequately covered.”

On traffic control and ease of movement in the state,  Yusuf-Osagie said: “there is an inter-agency working arrangement between PUWOV and the state traffic control agency, EDSTMA, on how to control traffic within Benin metropolis and other parts of the state so as to give vehicle owners and commuters easy movement during the Yuletide season.”

The PUWOV boss however warned that “anyone who may wish to do anything against the norm would have himself or herself to blame as all the agencies, most especially, PUWOV would visit the full weight of the law on such a person.”

He stressed that the mobile courts will be available to dispense justice as required by law, however wished law abiding citizens a merry Christmas and prosperous new year.
