Williams Malu, Coach of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Queens of Lagos and his player, Dibiya Ebiarede Bridget, have sounded a note of warning to the other 15 teams participating in the Atlantic Conference of the Nigeria Women’s Basketball League pre-qualification tournament being held in Benin from 1st to 11th June, that they’re not coming for a tea party.

Rather, they promised that their team will come out victorious at the end of it all no matter the odds piled against them by their opponents.

According to the Coach he cannot just wait for the tournament to commence. As he and his players have been perfecting their acts for a month and that they have been in close camping in preparation for the tournament.

“We have been in camp for the last one month. We are prepared and sure that we are going to qualify from this tournament,” he boasted.

Picking the chat from where her coach stopped Bayelsa State born Dibiya Ebiarede Bridget said: “we expect something better than in 2019 which was the last time that we had any serious league in Nigeria.”

Responding to enquiries that her diminutive figure could be a hindrance in her giving a quality performance at the tourney, Bridget said: “Basketball is from the mind. It depends on what you have inside. It is not by height.

“It has a lot to do with your intelligence. It is a very smart and fast game. So, it is not about the height.”
