In his fight against issues of insecurity and his desire that the people of Edo State live a fulfilled life the state Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has again wielded the big stick.
He has ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. George Oshiapi Egabor, the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area of Edo State, over recent cases of incessant kidnapping and killings in his domain.
In a statement announcing the Governor’s pronouncement, his Chief Press Secretary(CPS), Fred Itua stressed: “Already, his Secretary, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi, has since been arrested by the relevant authorities, following a recent incident that led to the death of a Palace Chief, Late John Ikhamate.”
He added: “The suspension of the traditional ruler is indefinite.”
It would be recalled that the Governor have, since his assumption of office, signed into law a pronouncement that buildings linked to kidnappers should be demolished.
