Latest information reaching this publication on the story of the child who was killed this evening on the ever busy Ring Road axis as a result of the overzealousness of some state officials is that those that played a part in the tragic occurrence were actually men of the Public Response and Safety (PSR) Team led by Kelly Okungbowa(aka Ebo Stone).

A source, who has fallen victim to the squad before, lamented: “Over time the activities of the PSR Team is causing a lot of embarrassment to the less than five months old Monday Okpebholo administration as on a daily basis motorists, most especially commercial vehicle drivers, fall prey to the schemings of the PSR Team.

“It’s one issue after the other as the members of the team exhibit certain unbecoming tendencies. You either cooperate with these chaps or else you get a raw deal from them for the flimsiest of reasons. No amount of pleadings will save you from their dragnet.

“The next thing that will happen to you is that they will divert you to their ‘slaughter slab’ somewhere in Ezoti Street, Off Sapele Road where a huge sum of money is extorted from you. These monies if you ask me never get to the government purse.”

You will recall that in our earlier report we delved on how the ever busy Ring Road in Benin City was thrown into turmoil and tears as a result of the killing of a child by a bus whose driver lost control of the steering as he and two PSR Team members struggled over who should have control of the steering wheel.
