Muslim body endorses Pastor Ize-Iyamu and Gani Audu of APC

Muslim leaders and stakeholders in Edo State under the aegis of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs(NSCIA) have endorsed the candidature of All Progressives Congress (APC) pair of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu as governor and deputy governor of the state in the gubernatorial poll of September 19th, 2020.

Made up of not less than 23 different muslim groups, they say said they were inspired to support the APC and its candidates.

In a communique signed by representatives of the various groups after an interactive session the group said: “Having regard to the antecedents, character, integrity and manifestoes of the candidates of the respective political parties taking part in the election which we have carefully x-rayed and considered, we are of the firm view that the candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu of the All Progressives Congress, with their Simple Agenda holds the ace for turning around the fortunes of our dear state which has steadily been on downward trend for some time now, stimulating rapid socio-economic transformation of our state for greater prosperity, restoring peace and security to our troubled state, promoting harmonious, peaceful co-existence among the diverse people of our state while guaranteeing social justice, freedom and equal opportunities to all.”

Quoting scripturally from the Quran and the Bible they affirmed that the duo are united in the fact that when the righteous are in power the people rejoice and the Christian-Muslim ticket was a dream come true for them.

In his response, Audu said their administration would be for all Edo people.

“This position is for the whole of Edo State. The deputy governor position is for all Edolites and I promise I will not disappoint you. We are serving one God and we are one in Edo State.”
