A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State and Publisher of The  Reminder Newspaper,Mr.Benedict  Oshiorenoya Inaede, has called on the people of the state to vote the candidates of the party in Saturday’s  governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu, adding that incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki is a total failure.

Inaede, made the call while  felding questions from select Journalists in Benin City.

He said, the governorship ambition of Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu is borne out of his passion to better the lives of the people of the state who are yeaning for a positive change.
Inaede, who was a member, Board of Directors of the Nigerian Observer Newspaper, said, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate was on a rescue mission to liberate the state from the shackles of underdevelopment, infrastructural decay and neglect of various sectors of the state by the present administration led by Mr.Godwin Obaseki.

While extolling the leadership qualities of the APC governorship hopeful, Inaede, further said, that Edo State needs a leader that understands the challenges of the people of the state.

Asked on his take on the Simple Agenda of the APC candidate, he asserted that the document is a manifesto of hope that is all embracing and all encompassing, adding that the document captures good governance, security, human and infrastural development, public private partnership among others.

He called on the people to vote enmasse for Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu to implement their Simple Agenda when voted into office.

While  maintaining that, the state governor has lost his chances of re-election, he added that, Mr.Obaseki has woefully failed the people of the state who collectively gave him their mandate and urged them to come out enmasse and vote APC to enthrone an administration that cares about the well-being of the people.

The former board member said the governor could not manage the party and the people properly.

“He is not the listening type. He feels he knows it all. Immunity does not last forever. He lacks emotional intelligence to govern the state. He is an authocratic leader in a democratic dispensation. He cannot be trusted with power.”

On the issue of the inauguration of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr.Inaede, said, it was a joke taken too far by the governor by deliberately refusing to properly inaugurate the House, thereby denying the constituencies their constitutional rights and entitlements.

The governor brought a strange order to the state. He added that in a functional country, all the governor had done are illegal and unconstitutional as long as he did not get the approval of the state House of Assembly.

He accused Governor Obaseki of abandoning key sectors of the  state’s economy especially education  and health sectors and his failure to pay salaries of health workers who are now being subjected to untold hardship, stressing that the time to liberate Edo State was now.

“A case study is Fugar Mixed Secondary School that has only one government teacher and I am sure it is the same thing across the state. The Edo Best Scheme of Obaseki is a scam.

“While Obaseki was campaigning in 2016, he promised to construct the Fugar _ Weppa Road. Nothing has been done on that road as I speak with you. How can a governor be seeking re-election without commissioning a single project in a local government?”
