Comrade Sunny Osayande, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Big Joe Ventures Nigeria Ltd, the operators of Big Joe Motors, a reputable transport company with headquarters in Benin, will on Thursday, February 11th, 2021, be donating customised footballs to twenty-one football clubs in Edo State.
Information reaching our desk is that the twenty teams that will be benefitting from this gesture were randomly selected earlier.
Donation of the football is a part of the promise made by Comrade Osayande to youth clubs in the state, in support of the new football season during his birthday celebraton recently.
The twenty-one lucky teams include Bendel Insurance Feeders Team, BJ Football Club, Rolly Football Club, Dynamo Academical FC, Bazuaye Football Academy, Austin Eguavoen Football Academy, N M A Football Club, Buffalo FC, Royal FC, Fortress Ladies FC, Restoration Boys FC, Shooting Arrow FC, Crown FC, Efe Urhocity FC, Guobadia Football Club, Edo Queens FC, Austin Dynamo FC, Eagles Wings FC, Inneh Stars FC, Aidia Sports FC and Bocas FC.
In a statement signed on his behalf by Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Comrade Osayande appealed for support in building the state football community “by way of giving support to the elite clubs as government cannot do it alone.”
The epoch event, which is slated for Wesley Hotel Event Hall in GRA, Benin City, is expected to be witnessed by football administrators and sportsmen/women from across the 18 local government councils of the state.
