While he was alive, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo(affectionately called Captain Hosa) was a man that was equated to a Godsent as a result of his generosity to all and sundry irrespective of social status who sought for his help. His knack for giving knew no boundary.

Many a story has emerged on how he changed the lives of many for the better even when not having any filial relationship with such individuals. As it is said you can never go to him with tears and leave his presence in tears.

The stories are too numerous to start citing in this brief write-up. What is certain is that his generosity will only be counted for him as a gain during the much talked about rapture.

Since his death on Sunday, August 8th, 2021, the talk around town has been about his acts of philantrophy to just about all that came to him for succour. His purse was ever open to anyone that was lucky enough to meet him and make a case for assistance.

Thus ever since the news of his death spread like harmattan fire on that fateful Sunday morning weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth has been the order of the day in many quarters. He never discriminated in his dealings with people.

Identifying with his family in this period was no problem for a load of people across the country and indeed the world. The Orhua, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State born multibillionaire has surely left behind a big shoe that would take such a long time to fill.

However, in the midst of mourning the exit of the likeable philantropist some smart alecs have constituted themselves into emergency consultants and warmed their way into the heart of his family members with claims of several years experience. They have being taking some actions that would make the deceased stir in his grave.

Captain Hosa was known for his finesse and zero tolerance for poor quality or half-baked jobs. What is happening now is that some individuals have been brandishing some mementos eg T-Shirts which it is claimed they spent so much money to produce but which are of poor quality, not the standard that the late philantropist will ever want to be associated with.

These hordes of self-acclaimed consultants are noticeable at every turn of the burial rites of the deceased. They are assigned to handle specific assignments but their output, considering the large sums of money that must have been made available to them, calls to question their capabilities.
