Today, callers at the Edo State Government House situated at Osadebey Avenue, GRA, Benin City, had a hectic time getting access into the place as mean looking and guntotting operatives of the state government owned security outfit, Operation Waibazigan mounted a very visible mark down point at the entrance of the edifice. They operated next to the regular Government House security team.
The no nonsense Operation Waibazigan men who came in two well marked operational vehicles were turning back most visitors they feel do not have enough genuine reasons for being in the place.
As they enquire about your mission to the Government House and you stammer in response they turn you back with the catch line, “You know this is a restricted area. Take a look at the signboards placed here and read what is written on them. So, no loitering, no waiting, no standing, no stopping, keep moving” they wave their weapon menacingly in your direction with a look that tells you they will not entertain any questions from you.
Their posture gave a lot of visitors to the edifice concern that they may have been seconded to the place based on what some suspect as a security threat.
