The people of Iguomon and Ikhuonbo Communities are calling on the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Alkali Baba Usman, to save them from the alleged criminal activities of one Clement Guobadia(aka Babuze), who in cohorts with some elements, have made life unbearable for them.
Acting on behalf of residents of the two communities, Efosa Aighobahi(Chief Priest) and one Peter Eze Omorowa have mandated their lawyers Idahagbon and co to forward their petition to the IGP at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Their petition centred on the allegations that some co-conspirators of Clement have been making frantic efforts to thwart the moves to get to the root of the criminal allegations against them and serve justice appropriately.
Our news desk was reliably informed that the said Clement and two members of his deadly gang were arrested by the operatives of the Edo State Police Command. While being interrogated the suspects were said to have confessed that they have sophisticated weapons with which they carry out their operations.
This confession allegedly implicated some elements whom they say supply them the sophisticated arms and ammunitions which they use for their operations. These co-conspirators have now resorted to going round frantically meeting with high networth individuals, politicians and the likes in their plot to thwart the ongoing investigation.
One other allegation brought against Clement was that he shot dead one Frank Eferi in the presence of ASP Jolly Ewiwillen, the District Crime Officer(DCO) of Okhaihe Police Division, who also suffered being robbed and the four tyres of his car being shot at by the same suspect.
Seeing that the arms of those investigating the case in Edo State Police Command is being twisted by the gang members, the aggrieved villagers demanded that the case should be forwarded to Force CID, Alagbon, Lagos, where the efforts of the DIG handling the investigation is also being thwarted like it happened in the Edo State Command.
According to Idahagbon and co, “in view of the above, our clients do not have any faith in the overt determination and interest being exhibited by some of the officers who appear to be using the office of the DIG to seek the transfer of the case file from Alagbon.”
