High Chief Pere Ejune, a leader from Ajakorama in Edo State, has fired back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Nyesom Wike, for allegedly denigrating the Ijaw nation in a TV interview describing them as “the minority of the minority in the Niger Delta region.”
Lashing at Wike, Ejune said “tell Wike that he is too inconsequential, too small, to challenge the Ijaw nation and people. He is of Ikwerre extraction. These are a people of low caste compared to the Ijaws.
“Wike’s nonsensical, stupid utterance against the Ijaw nation is taking it too far. I guess he was drunk when making the utterance. He should be warned that his low rating of the Ijaw people will amount to his down fall. He is now romancing with Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) after betraying his party, the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
“My advice to President Bola Tinubu is that he should take special note of the kind of person that Wike is. Here today, there tomorrow. He is a man of two faces who will always move to where is bread is buttered.”
On Wike’s claim that if not for his intervention, Siminalayi Fubara, an Ijaw man, wouldn’t have won election to govern Rivers State as the Ijaws are a minority tribe in the state, Ejune queried “ask Wike where he was when some notable Ijaw men became governors of Rivers State in times past.
“I am talking of men like Chief Alfred Diette Spiff, Chief Melford Okilo, Chief Ada George even Dr. Peter Odili is from the riverine area of Rivers State. Who is Wike, a drunk to cast aspersions on the Ijaw nation and people. Today, he is Minister of the FCT. Tomorrow, the tide may change against him and he is thrown out.
“Wike, I am warning you that you’re going to far. You should know your boundaries when it comes to the Ijaw nation or else you will get it hot. We will no longer take any insults from you. Enough is enough!”
