The family of a child(girl) in Ring Road, the nerve centre of business activities in the Benin metropolis and sympathisers are presently grieving over her death which was said to have been caused by a commercial vehicle( korope bus) crashing into her.
Credible information reaching this publication is that two officials of the state task force(names unknown) were dragging the steering of the vehicle with the driver for unknown reasons and refused to let go no matter the pleadings of the driver and the onlookers.
In the wake of the commotion caused by this action, the driver was said to have lost control of the steering and in a twinkle of an eye the vehicle had veered across the road median to the walkway on the opposite side of the road hitting the child said to have accompanied her mother to the area and killing her instantly.
Angry onlookers in the ensuing melee descended on the task force men but one of them escaped leaving the other to be dealt with by the mob before finding an escape route too.
